What is Hakone Onsen?

Hakone onsen is found more than 1,200 years ago. Several tons of hot spring have been gushing out every day since then. There are several hot springs in Hakone area and Hakone Yumoto is the oldest hot spring among them. Since Hakone onsen is very easy to access from Tokyo ( it takes only 85 min from Shinjuku by "Odakyu Romance Car" without any transfer! ) it's one of the most favored hot springs around Tokyo area.

How to get to Hakone Onsen?

1. From Haneda International airport

From Haneda International airport you have two options to get to Hakone onsen. One is to take train called Keikyu line to Yokohama station, transferring to Tokaido line for Odawara station. Then take Hakone Tozan line to Hakone Yumoto station. It takes about 1 hour and 45 min. The other way is to take Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus. Youcan get to Hakone without any transfer.

2. From Shinjuku Station

If you are in Shinjuku it's very easy to get to Hakone Onsen. You only take train called Odakyu Romance Car to Hakone Yumoto station. It takes about 85 min.

3. From Shin-Osaka Station

If you are in Kansai area like Osaka and Kyoto, you just take Tokaido Shinkansen to Odawara station and then transfer to Hakone Tozan line to Hakone Yumoto station. It takes about 3 hours and 15 min in total.
